When we see a carpenter, we see shavings and wood dust, carving tools and mallets. The greatest tool of Jesus the carpenter is Love.
The Lord came to send us forward as His tools. Tools meant to make beautiful works of souls we meet.
“As the Father has sent me, so I send you” – John 20:21
How do we become the great tools of the Carpenter?
We are witnesses to the resurrection and miracles and Divine Mercy of Jesus.
“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” – Acts 1:8
Each of us have witnessed to full power of Jesus and His resurrection first hand. He has directly worked in our lives. The Holy Spirit is active to each of us no less today then in the upper room.
The merciful Love of God moves us and works in and through us every moment when we love or offer forgiveness to another. The simple act of not becoming angry or judging another we encounter is an act of merciful love through us.
When we love, forgive, we share the Gospel. In this simple act, we become the tools in the Carpenter’s hand.
Come Holy Spirit, sharpen me that I may become an instrument of Your Merciful Love in the world. Let me be the tool with which You shape the world. Let me be the chisel in Your hands that the hatred and anger of the world may be carved away to cast into the fires. Share with me, O Holy Spirit Your thoughts that my words may echo Your words.
