In Christ Life, Jeff Cavins shared that the best way to talk of God, evangelize, is not through Catechesis, but through your own story. What has God done in my life?
A non-believer or Protestant can argue points of doctrine and trap you in roads you aren’t equipped to traverse. Or, refute by their logic your teachings. But, no one can refute personal experience.
Personal revelation of God’s merciful love acting in one’s life is irrefutable.
I have written 2,500 or so reflections on what God has done in my life. I write ‘I Knew His Voice’ to tell of an encounter with God that has ever changed my life and eternity. I’ve filled several volumes of journals writing my story in reflection to myself. I could talk for hours on how God and His love and mercy have saved me.
So, tell your story. Share in comments how God has touched you. Big events or small personal moments – all matter. Your doesn’t have to be one to fill volumes or even anything grand, but your story matters in the tapestry of salvation.

I remember when God….
I remember one time when some friends were going out to smoke a joint. Asking me to join them, I started to follow. Suddenly, anything friend stepped over, “Ed, come here, look at this!” And, the moment of temptation was gone. Accident or coincidence? Nope! This was God protecting me from my addictive personality.
Read my book and know of the series of events that changed things forever. This story has changed many lives and turned hearts to God – cracking through some very stony hearts to just look up and wonder (door opened). I’ve shared this story in churches and to retreats and small groups. The best part has always been the people who would come up afterwards to tell me of their story.
