Put faith first!
What does this mean? It means the faith should penetrate the believer’s entire life. It means letting God rule over one’s decisions. It means not limiting prayer to Sunday Mass. It means living the life of Christ, abiding in Him, and being contemplative in action.
In sum, it means doing everything through Christ, with Christ, and in Christ. It means driving your car, folding laundry, doing dishes in Christ’s image. When the soul has such faith, we make God visible to the world through what he says, does an how he acts.
This is a true witness to faith.
We are called to labor in the Lord’s vineyard, within our particular ‘plot of land ‘ – the world around us.
Our mission is singular in nature – whether that is as a husband (wife), father (mother), friend, worker or leader, our job is to make God visible to the world.
We do this through love. When we live in what we do and why we do it, Christ shines forth. When we put aside our grumbling to do the dishes for love of our family, Christ shines through. And, our little vineyard produces abundant fruits.
“Abide in Me, and I in you” – John 15:1, 4
In doing this, we take our unity with the Trinity, with Jesus, into the world to bring unity to each other in Christ. This is living a life of abiding with Jesus in every way, in a very real, personal relations of live with Love.
Then, by seeing the unity Catholics have with one another and with Jesus, that the world may believe.
Who ever thought taking out the trash was so important in the Kingdom of God?
