We are called to ‘be the light of the world’ Matthew 5:14. But, what does that mean? And, do we take those words seriously in the light of God’s grace?
A mirror is a just a piece of glass without a light to reflect. So our soul is dark without the Light. That light is the grace of God, Christ Himself. If we turn our souls to reflect Christ the reflection will be blinding, especially when reflected into a dark and stormy world. But, to reflect His grace we must do a few things on our part first. First, we have to polish the surface, our soul must be clean to take all of His grace to shine it back on the world. Great news with this…we don’t have to worry about cleaning … Christ offers the deepest and purest cleaning agent ever imagined, His mercy and grace. Better than any windex. Then, after He washes us clean we must be willing to turn toward Him or we can’t reflect the light of His grace. Face a mirror in the wrong direction and it shines nothing. Point it at the sun and it can be seen for miles. Same with out soul, point it to the Son and it will be seen clearly by all within range.
Accept His grace then cry out with Mary ‘my souls magnifies the Lord’ and see what it means to be within His Holy fire and on Burning with His love and grace.
He is exalted – stand in His grace and exalt the name of the King of Kings as a child of the Father
In Christ’s light, with Christ’s Light – reflect!
“Whatever Jesus did, He did well. He went along, doing good. His manner was full of goodness and mercy. His steps were guided by compassion. Toward His enemies He showed goodness, kindness, and understanding, and to those in need help and consolation. I have resolved to mirror faithfully these traits of Jesus in myself during this month, even if this costs me much.” (Diary 1175)
