“June 30, 1935. At the very beginning of Holy Mass on the following day, I saw Jesus in all His unspeakable beauty. He said to me that He desired that such a Congregation be founded as soon as possible, and you shall live in it together with your companions. My Spirit shall be the rule of your life. Your life is to be modeled on Mine, from the crib to My death on the Cross. Penetrate My mysteries, and you will know the abyss of My mercy towards creatures and My unfathomable goodness-and this you shall make known to the world. Through your prayers, you shall mediate between heaven and earth.” Divine Mercy #438
The Congregation of the Sisters of Merciful Jesus was called in the Church to praise God in the mystery of His Mercy.
In the spirit of the prayer; Jesus, I trust in You!
The Congregation was founded in 1947 by Fr Michael Sopocko as the answer for the apparition of Jesus Christ, who ordered St. Faustina among other things, to found the new religious community. The members of this congregation begins each activity to renew the message of: Jesus, I trust in
Did you know though that the only US Congregation of the Sisters of the Merciful Jesus is right here in Pittsburgh? Yep, right in the Strip next to St Stanislaw Kostka Church.
They are remodeling and updating their new home and future site of the Divine Mercy Center. You can see them often in the Divine Mercy parish at St Mary of Mercy, St Stanislaw and Immaculate Heart of Mary.
I am so excited to have met the sisters – Sister Pawla is from the same village that St Faustina was born in and has the same church as her home parish. I met her just weeks after returning from our pilgrimage to Poland where I sought my Patroness St Faustina.
Watch for many events to come in the near future – I’ll give you a teaser, a Divine Mercy Sunday procession from St Stanislaw through the streets of Pittsburgh
