“Praise is due to you, O God, in Zion;
and to you shall vows be performed, O you who answer prayer!
To you all flesh shall come. When deeds of iniquity overwhelm us, you forgive our transgressions. Happy are those whom you choose and bring near to live in your courts.
We shall be satisfied with the goodness of your house, your holy temple. By awesome deeds you answer us with deliverance” – Psalm 65:1-5
God provides both strength during difficulties and restoration after periods of spiritual drought. God’s strengthening wisdom to “gold that’s tested in fire” suggests that spiritual fortification comes through trials and refinement.
Glory and praise to our God
Who alone gives light to our days
Many are the blessings He bears
To those who trust in His ways
In His wisdom He strengthens us
Like gold that’s tested in fire
Though the power of sin prevails
Our God is there to save
