“Not in the beauty of the color, nor of the brush, lies the greatness of this image, but in My grace. ” Divine Mercy in my soul # 313
But, for all this painting is, without trust it is just brush strokes on canvas. We have to have trust that what we are looking upon is the face of the Merciful Jesus, from Whom the rays of mercy flow to envelop the whole world and forgive all sins. To gaze upon the image of the Merciful Jesus is to see the immense love of the Father being poured out upon our souls through the passion of His Son. The merciful blood and water flowing from the side of Jesus on the cross as He died to pour the Father’s Divine Mercy out over all mankind…for you personally. As Jesus looks down from the cross, directly into YOUR eyes, His heart burns with desire to pour His Divine Mercy over you. And when through Trust, you accept the grace and mercy of God, that is, you are “Immersed in the ocean of My Mercy”, you bring great consolation to Jesus “On the way of the cross” you provider “that drop of consolation in the midst of an ocean of bitterness” to Jesus’ Sacred Heart (Day 3 Novena of the Divine Mercy)
I remember kneeling in the church in Krakow, looking at the image of Divine Mercy, my eyes were drawn up to the eyes of our Lord and I saw His immense love. My heart broke as my eyes filled with tears. I knew that no matter what sin I may have committed or how far down that dark road I had traveled, the Father loved me so much that He sent His only Son to earth for me, and Jesus willing came, suffered His bitter passion and died my sinner’s death for me. I told Him in that moment, that I don’t deserve this much love, and He responded, “I love you more than you can ever comprehend. Your redeemed heart is my consolation.”
Ponder upon the Image of Divine Mercy and reflect upon His burning love for you. And trust that His Divine Mercy is yours to accept (no matter what).
