There was a song in the 80s by Scandal that came to mind in prayer this evening. The song was called “The Warrior”. It was an 80s rock love song but the two verses that ring out in my memory and soul are “heart to heart you win” and “I am the warrior”.
Exodus 15:3 declares, “The Lord is a warrior.” Exodus 14:14 makes it very clear Who the is fighting the battle, “The Lord will fight for you”.
In the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Immaculate Heart of Mary, “Heart to Heart you win”. There is no doubt – “the Battle is the Lord’s” – 2 Chronicles 20:15. Mary said at Fatima, “In the end, my Immaculate Heart will triumph.” Just one drop of blood from the Sacred Heart of Jesus is enough to purify the whole world. Nothing can overcome the Sacred Heart.
But, the Lord and our Queen call upon us to be warriors. The weapon of choice of our Warrior King is the cross and He shares this Heavenly weapon with His knights. We should always be so armed. Carry the weapon of victory in the crucifix around your neck and always upon you in the Rosary. Many saints and exorcists have noted that the Holy Rosary beats the daylights out of the forces of evil. A Catholic without a Rosary is like a knight without a sword.
I have been engaged in battles that pitted me face to face with demon forces. I was looking for a battle cross to engage in this salvific battle. My first was damaged by demonic forces in one of these fights, it now proudly wears the scars of its victory.
The Lord put it upon my heart how powerful a weapon the crucifix is against evil. He spoke to my heart, “the crucifix is a great sign of my Divine Mercy.” The crucifix I wear was with me during last year’s pilgrimage to Poland. We visited locations and celebrated Mass in chapels dedicated to St. John Paul II, St. Maximillian Kolbe and, my patroness, St. Faustina. At each site, I had the opportunity to bring my crucifix (and Rosary) into contact with first class relics of each of these great saints of Divine Mercy. Now, I am very blessed to always carry upon me, next to my heart, a relic of mercy, my mightiest weapon.
I have engaged in prayer with this weapon and seen a healing occur at the touch. I pray God pour His mighty power and Mercy through it to fall upon every soul who sees it.
The Cross of St. Benedict Society – Patrick Campbell and his son, Talon make beautiful works of art that are true weapons and powerful sacramentals. Their hand-made crosses of St. Benedict and the incredible swords are truly powerful against the enemy forces. Each is embedded with a Medal of St. Benedict, contains blessed salt and is touched to a relic of the True Cross. See their crosses through the link on my blog’s catalog page.
The question is, are you ready to join this battle? Facing demonic forces and standing against the darkness is the call of each Catholic and knight. But, no fears, remember, “the battle is the Lord’s” and “the Lord with fight for you”. All you have to do is be still and trust Him. Hold close to the Sacred Heart and rest in the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
“The Lord is a Warrior” in fact, He is THE Warrior. The Warrior King!
