Fear of the coming Illumination

Spread the love

“Today the Lord’s gaze shot through me suddenly, like lighting.  At once, I came to know the tiniest specks in my soul, and knowing the depths of my misery, I fell to my knees and begged the Lord’s pardon and with great trust I immersed myself in His infinite mercy’ Divine Mercy in my soul # 852

“During the evening examination of conscience, I am to ask myself the question, “What if He were to call me today?”” Divine Mercy in my soul # 860

The coming Illumination of Conscience will put every person in front of God the Father to face every sin they’ve every done in their life. Every time we came against God, against our neighbor or a stranger. Every thought that was not in love. Every sin, from the most grave to the most ‘insignificant’ will be shown before us. Every time a man looked at a woman who is not his wife and every woman who gazed upon a man not her husband with lust in their eyes.

We will stand in judgment of all our wrongs and the generations of that sin. The waves of our sin as they spread from us to all their lengths. The Lord’s gaze will shoot through every soul like lightning. And, in a moment, every soul will know the eternal repercussions of their life’s choices.

The soul that trusts in God’s mercy should not fear this moment but rejoice.  For the Lord is more merciful than we could ever understand.  Even if we spent all eternity contemplating His Mercy, we would not even scratch the surface of understanding the depths of His love and mercy.

“Even if the sins of souls were as dark as night, when the sinner turns to My mercy, he gives Me the greatest praise and is the glory of My Passion” Divine Mercy in my soul # 378

This moment should not be looked at in fear.  This is the greatest mercy of the Father.  A chance to see judgment and have a chance to change it or improve it.  Plus, by giving us this time of mercy, Jesus is giving all souls who know Him a chance to change NOW.  Go to the Sacrament of Reconciliation and fall upon your knees before the Merciful Savior in trust of His Mercy.  Trusting His Divine Mercy fully, means no worries of eternal destination.  In trusting His Divine Mercy, we surrender our punishment to Jesus.  We trust in His Mercy!  He never fails to give His Mercy to the repentent soul.

I recently read a book by Christine Watkins called “The Warning: Testimonies and Prophecies of the Illumination of Conscience“. I sat and thought about this moment, and overall the moment of judgment. Let no soul doubt that someday all will stand before God the Father and face judgment. I became afraid to stand before God and face all my life’s sins. He knows every thing, even sins I didn’t know about and sins of omission which are sometimes harder to discover. And, I was terrified. I am one of the worst sinners. And even worse, I know better. I have heard the voice of God, stood in a room that He was present within and have seen firsthand miracles directly from His hand. I thought, surely in this judgment I would face hell.
On this moment I heard His voice in my heart, “do you trust My Mercy?” “Of course, Lord”. In these words I share with you we have our answer. His Mercy, just trust it. His mercy is greater than any sin and overcomes all darkness. A friend said that even a single small candle breaks through the most oppressive darkness. Jesus Christ is the Light of the world, brighter than a million suns.

Now, with the thoughts of the Illumination on our mind from this post, we need to do at least three things. 1) Go to Confession – run to the God of mercy. 2) Trust His Divine Mercy to wash away all sins and 3) Live Divine Mercy from this day forward. And see tomorrow for another great defense.

Jesus said to St. Faustina, “I have come out to meet you, to lavish new graces on you. I am looking for souls who would like to receive My grace” Divine Mercy in my soul # 1705. He is saying the same to you today.

“Pray for souls that they be not afraid to approach the tribunal of My mercy. Do not grow weary of praying for sinners….dispense My mercy” Divine Mercy in my soul #975

  1. My brother Ed.

When we talk, I would like to focus on sin. For years, and still do somewhat, I beat myself up royally over sin! I was obsessed with self hate over sin and hurting the Lord. Gradually, I saw that the Lord does not want for me to do that, that I actually was thinking that I was sinning by obsessing over sin. I actually confessed that on time! I asked myself if I truly believe that God has mercy for me, and forgives me, then why can I not forgive myself?

Yesterday was a prime example. I was beating myself over sin during Mass, could not bring myself to receive the Eucharist, but, after mass approached the Priest for confession. It was so freeing. I am now allowing myself to be free, and, as Father told me yesterday, that being a Christian is a struggle in today’s world with so much coming at us all of the time in leading us into temptation.

So, I hear what you are saying and I feel for you as I emphasize with your words. But, I do know that God has mercy for us. You know this, I know. But, we have to allow ourselves to bask in His joy even though we fall. And as the Priest said yesterday, that the important thing is that you recognize when you fall and you get up, repent and then move forward.

God bless you Ed, my brother.

Looking forward to that talk someday!

    1. God forgives the falls as long as we continue to climb. As I’m prone to say now – as long as the number times we get back up is one more then the number of falls.
God’s Mercy is burning His Sacred Heart to be poured down upon every soul, no matter how great the sin of dark it’s state. The worst sin is to not accept that mercy (my opinion).
I’ve felt Jesus tell me that He desires to give His Mercy through Eucharist and that I should never exclude receiving Eucharist (go to confession first then receive). One drop of His Grace and Mercy is bigger than all the combined sin of al time.
