Did you know you have the power to fight victoriously over the demons of Satan? It’s true. God Himself gives you the power as a child of His children and disciples. Keep always in mind, this power is not from us but from God.
Yes demons roam the world looking to destroy what God created and loves.
“Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour” – 1 Peter 5:8
The greatest ‘exorcisms’ are at the hands of the ‘ordinary’ priest in the confessional. It is here that the powers of Hell, in sin, are crushed and cast out by God’s Unfathomable Divine Mercy.
It is in God’s power which we fight the demonic of the world.
The best way to fight the demonic is through stalwart virtue – going to Confession and participating regularly in the Sacraments is huge. The demons are smart and see a lot – they see and are very gleeful to call out any weakness or sin in your life.
I wanted to tell you of our encounter with the demonic but that story can be for another time – this post is long enough already.
“Amen, Amen, I tell you, the one who believes in me will also do the works that I do and, in fact, will do greater works than these, because I am going to the Father. I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If in my name you ask me for anything, I will do it.” John 14:12-14
For now, know without doubt – sinner or saint – you are a beloved child of God. Jesus came to earth from His exalted throne to call you to His side and bring you to the Father (and the Father to you). The Holy Spirit is the great gift of Jesus Who gives you immense power. From the Trinity and their love for you comes immense grace and power. All the gifts of God, the floodgates are open fully, are given to you.
So, when demons draw near to you, cast them out. Tell them who you are – a child of the Most High Jesus Christ – and tell them to hit the road and not to return. Say the Most Holy Name of Jesus over and over in your prayers – out loud so the demons can hear you.
“…at the name of Jesus every knee should bend, in heaven and on earth and under the earth…” – Philippians 2:10
If a demon attaches, run to the Church. The Sacrament of Reconciliation is great for scraping off crap. And, Jesus is present in the Eucharist – demons hate when you spend time in adoration and especially find it vile when you receive Holy Eucharist (in a state of grace and need).

In the Holy Name of Jesus, and through the power of His precious blood, I ask Almighty God to bind each and every demon coming against me (or my family) or trying to affect me (us) in any way. In Jesus’ name may they be bound and cast out. I ask God to render them all deaf, dumb, blind and powerless. In Jesus name, may He make them incapable of tempting, tormenting, afflicting or harming me (us). I ask the Blessed Virgin Mary to spread her mantle of protection over me (us). I ask the Holy Angels to surround me (us), and with the sword of Truth, keep out the evil spirits. I ask the Blood of Jesus to wash over me (us) and protect me (us). May it wash over this place, making it a sacred space, free of all evil.
