God created you as a man. The devil hates this. God came to earth as a man. The devil hates you for this. He wants you to feel that you, as a man, are small, weak, cornered and marginalized – that you don’t measure up. He wants to feminize you and make you feel unmanly for showing emotion.
But, Jesus does not say any of that. He came to earth as a man to show you men the incomparable value and esteem with which He holds you and your role.
There was no confusion in God’s mind when He made you a man. He gave you unique attributes and desires and strengths so that you could fulfill and find fulfillment in pursuing the unique call that He has just for you.
Do you sense that visceral desire in your heart, that fire in your belly? It is there by the Holy Spirit to inspire you to experience the exhilaration of being bold and strong, wild and free and to be a powerful determined man of virtue. A man the world badly needs.
It is time as men to step up to being a man after God’s own heart (1 Samuel 13:14).
David was a man after God’s heart because he was a man of faith, trust, love, humility, integrity, forgiveness, strength and put God first. Very much as we read about St. Joseph.
Time to man up and be the man God envisioned when He created you and gave you His Spirit.
