Come Holy Spirit – Descend Upon Us

“I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it remained on him.” – John 1:32

The soul upon the Road of Faith comes to a state of wisdom – not one of worldly things of science and nature. These souls increasingly live a life led by and in the Holy Spirit. They should develop a sensitivity and devotion to the Holy Spirit. In close association to the Scriptures, and religious authority, these souls ever more deeply discern the movements of the Holy Spirit.

Some can sense the movement of the Spirit around them and even through them. Many who walk this Road of Faith, closely aligned and living in/through the Holy Spirit ‘call’ other souls to see God.

In a sense, like the Baptizer pointing out that he saw the Spirit descend upon Jesus and knew Who Be was immediately. Souls in this darkened world can ‘see’ the Spirit descended upon certain souls. In these souls, the Holy Spirit is breathing forth in a loving union with the soul.

Jesus is ‘the Way’ (John 14:6) and ‘the Gate’ (John 10:9) through which the soul enters into this close union. He is also the ‘Way’ and ‘Gate’ through which the Spirit enters into the soul. In this union, the soul much down the Road of Faith becomes visible to others. Of course, it is the Spirit Who shines forth from the soul but, it is in this union that other souls turn their eyes and take notice of the soul.

Do you pray and seek this unity with the Holy Spirit? Seek to turn heads that others may see God in and through you.

  1. This is a beautiful reflection on John 1:32. It challenges me to think about what it means to live in such close union with the Holy Spirit that my life simply points others toward Christ. Not through striving for attention, but through quiet alignment with God’s presence at work within.
