Can You…When God Doesn’t

Spread the love

““Teacher, we wish to see a sign from you.” But he answered them, “An evil and adulterous generation asks for a sign, but no sign will be given to it.” Matthew 12:38-39

To know that you can praise God despite the circumstances. To know that you can follow God’s Will when it doesn’t make sense. To praise His Name when He doesn’t answer how you or the world expects.

“I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; that I know very well.” Psalm 149:14

So many need to see God heal or see His answer to our prayer in order to believe. Do you? I pray you are stronger than I’ve been in my life. So many decades of “tit for tat” prayer I look back upon. “Do this that I may believe.”

But, when I needed God in times of trial, He often seemed silent or many times seemed to be denying my request. Challenging for one who’s faith is built upon sand.

Where was God when I begged Him for months to heal my daughter? Where was God at the bedside of my friend’s dad when they begged for healing? Not even whispers we’re heard. We prayed for miracles to get nothing. We looked to God for signs.

When you are going through difficulty and wonder where God is, remember that the teacher is always quiet during the test.

All our life is a test. Not just the tough and bad times but also the good time. All moments are a test.

Living life is about learning to live life in God. Living for His glory. When God is silent when we think we need Him most, He is challenging us.

Imagine when we are in difficult times what others see when we praise God anyway? When we trust God anyway?

God’s only goal is to get us home to Him in Heaven. Period. If we can surrender to God and praise Him in ALL circumstances, our faith strengthens and others see. We become like special forces for God. We are strong and strengthened and force multipliers.

So, do you look for signs from God, or proof that He hears when you call upon Him or need Him most? Or do you trust Him no matter what? Do you praise Him when the healing doesn’t come?

This is the goal of our life, to trust…always.
