Bible on The Road – Who’s Image

Spread the love

“Tell us, then, what you think. Is it lawful to pay taxes to the emperor, or not?” But Jesus, aware of their malice, said, “Why are you putting me to the test, you hypocrites? Show me the coin used for the tax.” And they brought him a denarius. Then he said to them, “Whose image is this, and whose title?” They answered, “Caesar’s.” Then he said to them, “Give therefore to the Caesar the things that are the Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.”” Matthew 22:17-21

A simple phrase of Jesus which has caught on in common tongue – “Give to Caesar what is Caesar’s.”

God gave me revelation of this Gospel while sitting last night.

Take out your coin or bills. What do you see? In the US, we have many different faces of historical men and upon the back typically government buildings. Other counties have different things – Canada and the UK have the image of the reigning monarch. These things belong to the government. They are of this world. So, give to Caesar what is his due.

What are we then to give God? To God we give what bears His Image.

“And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness” Genesis 1:26

Upon your soul, upon your body is the image of God. We are made in God’s image, we hold His very breath within us.

The world holds all kinds of treasures that drive greed, envy and jealousy. Give these back to the world, they are if no value.

To God give your whole self. Your mind, heart and soul. Give to Him all your thoughts, hope and love.

Be His image!!
