“Rising very early before dawn, he left and went off to a deserted place, where he prayed.” Mark 1:35
“It happened that while Jesus was praying in a certain place, after He had finished, one of His disciples said to Him, “Lord, teach us to pray just as John also taught his disciples.”” Luke 11:1
“How You pray, I’ll pray”
Two incredible men..brothers I look up to, have helped shape this topic.
I recently had a great talk with a brother who said that everything that we love, our spouse, kids, the sunrise, everything is a gift from the Father. Why? Because of love. God IS Love…so everything that comes from His hand can only be love.
From the Kingdom of the Divine Will, the other says that God gives us love, pure overwhelming love, He asks us to take this love that He gives us and give it back to Him, an eternal exchange of love – the Father into us and we back to the Father. We know from the parable in Matthew 25:14-30 that when we take the love (the talents) given by the Father and pour it out into those around us whom we come in contact with, what we give back to the Father is multiplied 2 times, 5 times or more. The Father is very pleased with us offering of love.
So this comes around to the thought that was in my mind from the Festival of Praise that woke me this morning. As we praises last night we sang the words “how You pray, I’ll pray” and I had a strong image of Jesus in a quiet place on a hill, the sun barely beginning to crest the horizon, He was on His knees with arms lifted to Heaven. And I could see the Father sitting ‘above’ Him. The words being shared between them were love. I could see love breathing out from the Father over Jesus and Jesus breathed love to the Father. And from Jesus’ and the Father’s conversation the Holy Spirit issues over the world – Love.
This exchange of love within the Trinity flows forth upon us all at the passion and from the cross.
So I sit here this morning talking to my Father, I see the breeze blowing across the Monongahela River, and I know that God is breathing His love into me. We all need to know that everything God does is love because God IS Love. The words ‘Jesus I trust in You’ and the image of the Merciful Jesus, Jesus’s passion and death, everything the Father creates can be simplified into one prayer from God upon each soul – “I LOVE YOU! Enough to do all this for YOU to see the intensity of My Love for you.”
So many souls don’t see that everything God in the Trinity does is for love of them – yes for the world but more so for them individually. If you know of God, you know He is God, then trust in Him, trust His words and actions, be still and know that He loves you.
Please I beg you don’t let who you’ve been, or you’ve been treated by man or you past sin overcomplicate or cloud the message God is singing over you. He simply is asking for your love. Give it to Him and make Him very happy. Join in the prayer between the Father and Jesus, They won’t mind the intrusion, and let Them breath love into you.
