“Whither shall I go from thy Spirit? Or whither shall I flee from thy presence. If I ascend to heaven, thou art there! If I make my bed in Sheol, thou art there. If I take the wings of the morning and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, even there thy hand shall lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me. If I say, “Let only darkness cover me, and the light about me be night,” even the darkness is not dark to thee, the night is bright as the day; for darkness is as light with thee.” Psalm 139:1-12
God pursues the soul like the Hound of Heaven. Never will He give up or surrender in His effort to open the eyes of every soul and turn it to His Merciful Love. Even when all hope seems lost, God persists and still finds victory.
““Whither shall I go from thy Spirit? Or whither shall I flee from thy presence.”
I tried for many years to run from God. I made very concerted efforts to escape His gaze and close my ears to the call of God. I hope it’s obvious that I failed to escape His Divine Mercy, or more so, He succeeded opening my eyes to that Mercy.
I never realized through those years just how much effort the Father was putting into ‘capturing’ my heart. This amazes me and leaves me speechless.
If God’s grace and love can find and free even me, no matter who you are, He can save you and change your life. I know where I was in my sin and how I was living life. “And I am the foremost of sinners” 1 Timothy 1:15. But, remember “The saying is sure and worthy of full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners.”
His grace is enough. Trust me, I know. The Father will never relent in His efforts to find the lost sheep. To find me, He crossed the greatest chasm, between Heaven and earth, life and death, sin and mercy.
“Although the path is very thorny, I do not fear to go ahead. Even if a hailstorm of persecutions covers me; even if my friends forsake me, even if all things conspire against me, and the horizon grows dark; even if a raging storm breaks out, and I feel I am quite alone and must brave it all; still, fully at peace, I will trust in Your mercy, O my God, and my hope will not be disappointed.” Divine Mercy in my soul # 1195
Are you open to God’s grace? Do you have hope that even in the darkest moment of you life, even in your most scarlet of sins that the Father is running to find you? He is, He will never relent. It doesn’t matter what you’ve walked through or the sins you may have committed, turn to God and He Will washed you with His cleansing grace that you may be lifted up. Trust in Jesus!
“Why are you afraid? Do you think that I will not have enough omnipotence to support you? At that moment, my soul felt extraordinary strength, and all the adversities that could befall me in carrying out God’s will seemed as nothing to me.” Divine Mercy in my soul # 527
