Trust in the Divine Will of the Father because we can’t see the eternal plan.
“We know that in everything God works for good[b] with those who love him, who are called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:27-28
I prayed many times every day for healing of my daughter, “I know Lord, with the touch of Your cloak she will be made whole and healthy..”. See my book “I Knew His Voice” (available on Amazon & BN.com – click to link).
Yes, I still pray that same prayer daily, just now I look to God in this prayer in a much different way.
Without doubt, I believe God, if it is in His Divine Will, could heal my daughter. But, I understand now that He sees the big picture and understands how everything, even illness, suffering and death, can glorify His Great Name AND be a catalyst to salvation.
Yes, He could have healed her a decade ago, My family and I would have praised God. Hundreds of prayer warriors would have given God honor and glory. But, I would have been caught in that moment of time. Many others would never have grown in prayer from the heartbreaks my family felt in which they shared.
I would have glorified God for answering my prayer. But, God saw a bigger goal than just a miracle healing. God saw the full moon in the sky, while I only saw a sliver of the crescent in the dark sky.
I saw the valley with great mountains surrounding me, while God saw Brigadoon. He saw so much more than just a moment in time.
Because God stayed strong against my desires, I have come to see His greatness and grown in trust and faith. I have a deep abiding love of the Trinity I had never experienced before. Because of His foresight, many have come to a deeper level of prayer and relationship with God. And, the community associated has grown deeper and closer.
Are you struggling with a strong need? In the moment, God’s silence seems overwhelming. But, maybe the silence of the Father is simply because He is holding you close. Keep faith and trust the God knows best the course is your life and salvation history. Everything will be made clear someday.
When you look ahead and above, seeing nothing but a dark sky with just a sliver of light, look harder. With effort and the right light of faith, you too may see the full moon hidden in the darkness.
“And he who searches the hearts of men knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because[a] the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God. We know that in everything God works for good[b] with those who love him, who are called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:27-28
