“I must not oppose God’s will and God’s designs, whatever they might be; and as soon as I am convinced of the certitude and the authenticity of the will of God, I have the duty of carrying it out. No one can release me from this. Whatever the will of God may be, once I have come to know it, I ought to carry it out.” Divine Mercy in My Soul # 1101
This is a profound lesson from my patroness today. I sit and reflect upon discerning and living in God’s Will. Then, these words come up in my reading of her diary.
This is a true state of trust and surrender for the soul. When God chooses to share His Will, calling a soul to follow, the soul must go. No fear of competence or ability can come upon the soul. For if it is God’s Will that the soul act, what does the soul have to fear? God will make it come about. He will give the soul what it needs to the level of his trust in God.
“Be strong and courageous! Do not be terrified nor dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9
Most times, God shares His Will with the soul in subtle ways, drawing the soul step by step along a desired path. This has happened to me so many times. In most, I’ve noticed, the ask of God was more than I could handle, or would say yes to. So God subtly shows pieces I can handle and would say yes to, then moves to the next. Until God has accomplished His Will for me, and I’ve grown in faith and trust.
Other times, God is very obvious in His ask. Like Gabriel coming to the Blessed Mother – though only lightly can I compare to that. Connie and I strive to live this way – with Mary’s heart. When it is obvious God is asking something of us, we strive for that immediate, unconditional yes. We’ve had friends remark that when God calls, we just go. “I Knew His Voice” and our current RV lifestyle are example.
God doesn’t always make His Will known for immediate action. At times, as He did with St. Faustina, His Will is purposefully delayed that He may be glorified precisely at the right time.
We are discerning with God’s help a huge next step. It isn’t now any longer a question of if but is a question of when God wants this to take place. We have recently spoken with our friends Patrick and Joy, which has shown this path again. Patrick and I have both seen us working together for God’s Kingdom. In the weeks before our call, God has reminded us of this path. During our talk and since, God has confirmed His desire. Now, it is only a matter of God saying now is the time.
When that time comes, or at any other moment God calls, I simply pray that I have the strength and courage to say yes.
