“In the evening, I saw the Lord Jesus upon the cross. From His hands, feet, and side the Most Sacred Blood was flowing. After some time, Jesus said to me, “All this is for the salvation of souls.”” Divine Mercy in my soul # 1184
“Jesus turned to them and said, “Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for me, but weep for yourselves and for your children. For the days are surely coming when they will say, ‘Blessed are the barren, and the wombs that never bore, and the breasts that never nursed.’ Then they will begin to say to the mountains, ‘Fall on us’; and to the hills, ‘Cover us.’” Luke 23:28-30
“Jesus, don’t you see what’s going on down here? Our government leaders are corrupt, abortion is murdering millions of Your children, Your people are being openly attacked for faith in You. Where are You?”
I’ve heard many crying that prayer out in the past weeks. Especially since the elections…
The world looks to be in an out of control tailspin. Evil is opening running rampant in the form of paganism, abortion, hatred, greed, hedonism and even witchcraft and demon worship. It seems so many people are selling the souls for pleasure.
“When they came to the place that is called The Skull, they crucified Jesus there with the criminals, one on his right and one on his left. Then Jesus said, “Father, forgive them; for they do not know what they are doing.” Luke 23:33-34
We look within the microscope of the moment and think He should come back now to put an end to this all. Where is Jesus in all this?
Jesus answers from the cross…”I AM right here”
We can draw consolation and hope from the fact that it is precisely moments like these for which Jesus took His Cross. From the cross, we hear our Savior crying out to the Father for forgiveness for “them.” Focusing on His Word and St. Faustina’s diary, we know Jesus is asking the Eternal Father to grant mercy to the whole world.
“Be not afraid…When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you.” Isaiah 43:1-2
In the darkest night, flood of worry, or within the fire of persecution and despair, Jesus Christ is on the cross where He pours forth the blood and water from His Most Precious Heart to cleanse the world and lift the eyes of all who gaze upon Him in hope.
Our task is to keep our eyes locked on His upon the cross in the raging storm. We need to find solace that He has seen all of this and this world from beginning to end is just a drop within the realm of His eternity.
The clock outside Karol Wojtyla‘s boyhood home says, “time flies, eternity awaits”. We need to live for eternity knowing this moment is fleeting. The raging fires and seas settle in His gaze.
Draw peace knowing that Jesus is on the cross where He reigns forever. Don’t focus on the world, in fact, don’t even look around at the world. Focus on Jesus – “JESUS I TRUST IN YOU!”
“When the Lamb broke the fifth seal, I saw underneath the altar the souls of those who had been slain because of the word of God, and because of the testimony which they had maintained” Revelation 6:9
“In you, O Lord, I take refuge.
Let me never be put to shame.
In your justice, set me free,
hear me and speedily rescue me.
Be a rock of refuge for me,
a mighty stronghold to save me,
for you are my rock, my stronghold.
For your name’s sake, lead me and guide me.
Release me from the snares they have hidden for you are my refuge, Lord.
Into your hands I commend my spirit.
It is you who will redeem me, Lord.” Psalm 31
