What’s It All For?

“Truly I tell you, you will never get out until you have paid the last penny.” Matthew 5:26

Today bring to Me the souls who are in the prison of Purgatory, and immerse them in the abyss of My mercy. Let the torrents of My Blood cool down their scorching flames….” Divine Mercy in My Soul # 1226

Many may ask if we have Purgatory then what good is Divine Mercy? Purgatory is a real thing and a sign of God’s great Divine Mercy. Yes, the soul must appease God’s Justice. We know though that nothing imperfect may come before God the Father. I don’t know about you, but I am far from an instant saint. But, I trust God’s Divine Mercy so much and on every level of my life and with my eternity and I know He loves me totally. He loves me enough to cleanse me of all my stains so I may stand joyously and gloriously before the Father.

Another aspect of God’s great Divine Mercy through Purgatory is for the Church Militant – you and me. We get to learn mercy by praying for those souls who have left earth and are in Purgatory’s cleansing fire. God looks favorably upon us when we share His mercy. What better way to give away mercy than to give it to souls in Purgatory! One of the Corporal Acts of Mercy relates to this, Bury the Dead. An action one can do for this is to pray for those you have lost.

I pray for my dad often even though I know God granted His Divine Mercy to him through my Chaplet and welcomed my dad to Heaven. Doesn’t matter that I offer those prayers for him or anyone else already free of Purgatory’s fire. These prayers are never wasted, only reflected and magnified by our lives one to souls most in need in Purgatory.

I ask each soul on The Road of Faith to post in the comments the names of your beloved who have left this earth. Then, I ask every follower of The Road of Faith to say a prayer, say a Chaplet of Divine Mercy and pray dedicated intentions at future Masses for these souls. Let us on the Road of Faith pray to set free every last soul in Purgatory. They will celebrate the God’s Divine Mercy handed out by you.

To share Mercy: Isn’t that what it’s all for?

Go to PrayforSouls to add your beloved lost to the prayers of the Marian Fathers.

Father God, by Your Divine Mercy through the intercessory prayers of all those who trust in You, we ask You in Your Mercy to empty the halls of Purgatory today.

Today I pray for my dad, Edward, and my brother’s son, Grant (who’s funeral we celebrate today), all my aunts and uncles and grandparents.

Our loss is great, but God is greater!
