What Can One Do?

You should not worry too much about adversities. The world is not as powerful as it seems to be.” Divine Mercy in My Soul # 1643

What can one man do against a world of sin?

When I look around at all the deviants, evil and sins the world is exalting in these days, I wonder what I can do to stand against it. I’m just one man, insignificant at that. I’m not Pope St. John Paul II with a worldwide stage to speak against the ‘Culture of Death.’ One doesn’t need to look far to see a society that doesn’t count human life as precious, killing babies before they can take a breath and using their body parts and cells for experimentation. We see a culture that glamorizes murder and death and the occult in its music, movies and video games.

What can one man do against a worldwide culture of evil?

Separating ourselves from the world isn’t the right answer. In this action, we may protect ourselves but how many are at risk for lack of a holy voice in their life? We can boycott these things, but what will it affect them if I don’t buy the product – my money or support is insignificant to the multi-billion dollar machine.

“When I learned how great are the difficulties in this whole work, I went to the Lord and said, “Jesus, don’t You see how they are hindering Your work?” And I heard a voice in my soul: “Do as much as is in your power, and don’t worry about the rest. These difficulties prove that this work is Mine. Be at peace so long as you do all that is in your power.”” Divine Mercy in My Soul # 1295

We can’t look at this battle in the macro. We can only fight from where we stand and with the weapons we have at hand. Our boycott may not be noticed by the huge company. Our voice may be drowned out by the voice of the throng. But, we still have this obligation. As followers of the Lord Jesus Christ we are obligated to stand for life and for God’s values, even if we stand alone.

Someday we will stand before God the Father and see that we never stood alone. If we bravely step out of the silent majority to stand with raised hands, not clenched in a fist but folded in prayer, or we stand against the evil be not participating in it or buying its products, we stand for righteousness. Our littlest actions can ring for eternity.

Do not fear; I will not leave you alone. Do whatever you can in this matter; I will accomplish everything that is lacking in you. You know what is within your power to do; do that” Divine Mercy in My Soul # 881
