“You are united to Me; fear nothing. But know, my child, that Satan hates you; he hates every soul, but he burns with a particular hatred for you, because you have snatched so many souls from his dominion” Divine Mercy in My Soul # 412
I recently went to the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Upon approaching the church, I felt bombarded by “no’s”.
When I approached the confessional, it felt like I was walking through gel. It was difficult to come closer.
“When I had taken a few steps, a great multitude of demons blocked my way. They threatened me with terrible tortures, and voices could be heard.” Divine Mercy in My Soul # 418
But, I knew the light was within, drawing me ahead.
As I knelt and made the sign of the cross, I sensed a lot of turmoil behind me but from the priest ‘glowed’ a sense of light and peace keeping the turmoil behind me and ‘outside’. Behind me, standing in the doorway, stood my guardian angel, I knew he would keep me safe from any attacks as I proceeded forward in peace.
I began my confession, as the darkness was drawn out like snake venom from a bite. Outside the confessional I heard, “no, no, no…”
As the priest raised his hand and recited the prayer of absolution, I heard a feral scream outside. Then, silence as I made the sign of the cross. A sense of peace and calm washed over me in that moment as the priest welcomed me back to Jesus and sent me forth, “to sin no more.”
Make no mistake nor have doubt, the enemy and all his evil minions hate you. They hate especially when you accept God’s Divine Mercy. They make every effort to block you from approaching the Mercy Seat or even thinking of Mercy. They will move to distract and dissuade you from considering mercy. They may even make physical and verbal attacks to stop you. The demons know that God’s mercy destroys all their works and efforts. They know nothing they do can stop the rays of Divine Mercy from snatching a soul from their grasp. A simple, “Father, forgive me”, destroys all their efforts to bind your soul in sin, sending them fleeing to the very depths of the pit of Hell.
The devil hates the work of Divine Mercy. Yet the power of the holy angels is greater than the forces of hell. The weakest of God’s Holy Angels is more mighty then all the combined forces of Hell.
Know, when we approach the seat of mercy, we not only have their help, but that of the intercession of the saints, and all the grace of God as our help so long as we remain joyfully united to God, bear our cross in trust and dependence upon the divine strength, and believe that “all things work for good for those who love God, who are called according to his purpose” (Romans 8:28).
Go to the Sacrament of Mercy. Go and cast out the enemy and all his evil minions from your life in this great exorcism of your soul.
“Put on the armor of God so that you may be able to stand firm against the tactics of the devil. For our struggle is not with flesh and blood but with the principalities, with the powers, with the world rulers of this present darkness, with the evil spirits in the heavens.” Ephesians 6:11-12
“God is my shield. It is the enemy who should fear us, and not we him. Satan defeats only the proud and the cowardly, because the humble are strong. Nothing will confuse or frighten a humble soul.” Divine Mercy in My Soul # 450
