“ I heard a voice, This Feast emerged from the very depths of My mercy, and it is confirmed in the vast depths of My tender mercies. Every soul believing and trusting in My mercy will obtain it. I was overjoyed at the immense goodness and greatness of my God.“. Divine Mercy in my soul #420
If you dropped an object into the middle of the vast ocean you would know, with deep certainty, that this object would get wet. The immensity of the ocean would consume it. So it is with the Mercy of God. It is immense and infinite. Therefore, if you trust in His Mercy, you can have a deep certainty that you will obtain it.
Do you trust that God will bestow His infinite Mercy upon you? The goal is to be certain of this. We do not arrive at this certainty because of our own goodness; rather, we arrive at it as a result of the unfathomable and infinite Mercy of the Most Holy Trinity.
Through the Guidance of God Himself and the tutelage of St. Faustina, I’ve come to trust in God’s mercy. And to love Him deeper through His Mercy.
I remember once in confession, Jesus speaking through the priest humbled me in His Merciful words. I confessed a recurrent sin of which I felt much sorrow and guilt. I felt a sense of shame that I was coming again with same sin. The priest looked at me and said. “My son, Jesus doesn’t want you to sin, He wants saintly holiness bit remember, every time you come seeking Jesus’ Mercy, you glorify it”
That surprised me until I remembered Jesus said those same words to St Faustina and the words of St Paul. St. Paul has asked for the thorn to be removed from him three times but God’s answer was, “ “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is made perfect in weakness.” 2 Corinthians 12:9
God doesn’t ever want us to sin, He desires us to be holy as He is Holy. But, when we sin and turn back to the Divine Mercy of God, the gates of hell tremble and the enemy flees in anger. When we ask Jesus for Mercy, we do in fact give great glory to His greatest attribute, Mercy. “My heart rejoices in the title of Mercy” diary #300
“and Water which came forth from My Heart always flows down upon your soul and ennobles it. Every time you go to confession, immerse yourself entirely in My mercy, with great trust, so that I may pour the bounty of My grace upon your soul. When you approach the confessional, know this, that I Myself am waiting there for you. I am only hidden by the priest, but I myself act in your soul. Here the misery of the soul meets the God of mercy. ” diary #1602
As we come to the Feast of Divine Mercy this Sunday, glorify His mercy by coming to Jesus at the cross and asking Him to forgive any sin you’ve committed against Him. (Then when this pandemic’s quarantine is done – run to His waiting arms in the confessional)
