Trust – Complete Trust

Spread the love

“I am Love and Mercy itself. When a soul approaches Me with trust, I fill it with such an abundance of graces that it cannot contain them within itself, but radiates them to other souls” Divine Mercy in My Soul # 1074

Trust in Jesus is the essence of the message of mercy. Trust in Jesus is the balm of the sinner. Trust in Jesus is the life blood of a true Christian.

There is more to trust than just believing that God is trustworthy. We have to act upon that belief. Trust involves a turning back to God, a real conversion of our whole lives to God, repenting of our sins and forgiving others. Trust is a living faith.

The graces of My mercy are drawn by means of one vessel only, and that is — trust. The more a soul trusts, the more it will receive.” Divine Mercy in My Soul # 1578

Trust means that we agree to let God be God, instead of trying to be God ourselves. Trust is the antidote to the first sin of Adam! It means that we agree that God can write the script of our lives, instead of insisting on our own script. It means that we agree with the great pledge we make in the Our Father: “Thy will [not mine] be done on earth as it is in heaven.” “Thy Kingdom come [not mine]. It means that even in our moments of agony we agree with the cry of Jesus in the Garden, “Not my will, but Yours be done” (Lk 22:42).

Think of Charlie Brown and his experience, year after year, with Lucy. Charlie simply wants to start the football season by kicking the ball. Each year, Lucy says she’ll hold it so he can get the most out of the kick. “This year will be different”, she tells him. Charlie wants to believe the best of people, especially those closest to him. So, he abandons his doubt and fear and trusts Lucy to hold the ball this time. He steps back thinking, “I believe her and trust she’ll hold the ball. If you can’t rust friends, then who?” He lines up, taps his toe on the ground and starts his run. He plants his foot and draws back the kicking leg to smash the ball. Lucy pulls it away at the last second, leaving ole Charlie Brown to go flying through the air. Another year failed. Charlie lays on the ground thinking, “I knew it! You can’t trust anyone!”

People will fail us. Throughout our lives, we find more who have failed us or broken a promise than those we can absolutely trust. Even the closest to us can and will fail us at times. Maybe not maliciously like Lucy, but they will fail at some point. We are only human.

The only exception to this rule is Jesus. God is 1000% trustworthy.

Surrender total trust to God!

“I am offering people a vessel with which they are to keep coming for graces to the fountain of mercy. That vessel is this image with the signature: “Jesus, I trust in You”” Divine Mercy in My Soul # 327
