Make no mistake, we are engaged in a battle. A mighty struggle that has been fought since the beginning of time.
The times in which we live are no different than many other days in the past thousands of years. The enemy of man is fighting to rip men’s souls from God. The enemy knows at no time will God relinquish His grasp on those who are His, so his main attack is to get man to turn away from God.
What can we do in this fight? Fight the devil by simply turning to God over and over.
God told us to take hold of eternal life. To acquire eternal life, we must go through a process – that is, fighting the good fight of the faith, pursuing righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness.
“But you, man of God, flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness. Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses.” 2 Timothy 6:11-12
Begin today with the realization that we are in a battle. We are in battle with eternal consequences. We are fighting a fight for the soul of a nation, for our family, for our Sacramental marriages, a battle for our very souls. The casualties are many – aborted babies who never get a chance to live are martyred by the thousands, our friends, those in the pew beside us and even our families are conscripted unknowingly by the lies of the enemy.
“But you, man of God, flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness.” It is time for men of honor to rise up and move back to the frontlines.
Now is the time to engage the enemy. If we don’t fight this fight, what will the cost be? If we don’t engage now – we will be to ones who have to answer to God for any losses.
