God loves you without limit – so love others. God sacrificed everything for your salvation – so, sacrifice everything for others.
“O Jesus, it is for love of You, for the conversion of sinners, and in reparation for the sins committed against the Immaculate Heart of Mary.”
How much do you love all those around you? If you’re like me, not enough. So many souls pass by me every day who are like blurred faces skipping past. I don’t even notice their presence as I walk by. I’m not saying this is sinful, it would be a truly heroic saint to notice and pray for every person who walks by.
Personally, I’m making a point this Lent to pray for those who upset me. I scan through Facebook or the news and read so many things about what the people in congress and the White House are doing that just raise my stress and anger levels. I work to avoid these outlets but now. whenever I do see these headlines or articles, I am trying to stop the rise of anger and turn it to prayers.
“But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you” Matthew 5:44
For me, Lent is about fasting but more so, it is about drawing nearer to God. Give up worldly items in Lent and replace them with Godly things. So, I work to give up the anger the liberal agenda draws up within my heart, and turn it into an opportunity for prayer. Same for witnessing all the sins in our world. The sin of abortion cries out to God’s throne, I am trying to turn even this into a prayer opportunity. I pray for those dedicated to, committing this atrocity and pressing this agenda. “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” Luke 23:34. I join my prayer with those aborted, innocent martyrs and pray for the world that all may see God’s love and mercy.
By all means, fast throughout Lent, strengthen your worldly strength to prepare your soul to fight the battle to attain Heaven. Never forget to fill these empty slots on your calendar with something that draws you to God’s side.
God is knocking, this Lent, quiet your soul so you may hear His voice.
I have an illusion that never should be near me. I have love and faith in Jesus. What does that mean to me? He is an awesome God who burden is light and his yoke is easy. All he want to do is show us his love and compassion and forgiveness. This battle is not mine because I believe in his power and desires for his children. I am a mom and know how to take care of my children. Pray for me to remove all the movements and thoughts on me in Jesus name. Amen
