The Time

Spread the love

“Mordecai told them to reply to Esther, “Do not think that in the king’s palace you will escape any more than all the other Jews.  For if you keep silence at such a time as this, relief and deliverance will rise for the Jews from another quarter, but you and your father’s family will perish. Who knows? Perhaps you have come to royal dignity for just such a time as this.”” Esther 4:13-14

Today is Election Day in the US. Tonight or tomorrow, we will have a new President. This isn’t a political post about who you should vote for or who is better or not. I have my strong opinions but The Road of Faith isn’t about that (wasn’t during Covid and not now.)

What this is about is understanding when we are and who we are.

We live is crazy days. It certainly feels like evil had reign and darkness is all about us. We see things being normalized now that have always been considered wrong. Forty years ago, we saw ads about the dangers of drugs and heard how marijuana is a gateway to worse, now, stores in many states sell it openly. Abortion has always been a scourge, but now so many, even Catholics support abortion and the right to murder. Sins that are noted for thousands of years as crying out to God, so loudly that He ‘comes’ to earth to witness and punish them.

Now is the time, no matter the outcome of the election or what we see on the news or witness around us. Now is the time like never before for good Christians to stand for God.

The one true remaining bias, even supported by the government, is the hatred and attack of Catholics and the Church.

So why mention all this?

Because, as dark as the days seem and as evil as somethings appear, NOW is the time for which God designated you to live. Now is the time to stand up and make our voices heard. We can’t hide within a party or within the Church. We are here now for this reason. Not to make political statements or rise against a government we don’t like. No.

Now is the time for us to walk into the presence of THE King, and seek mercy for the world. Especially for those who persecute us and condemn our beliefs. Now….NOW is the time of Mercy. Now is the time when a voice of faith and of love stands loud. In the darkest hours, the faithful soul stands like a beacon.

Stand tall and be who you are called to be. You have His name and blood. Live like it. God is watching to see what you will do. Your neighbor and coworker in the world is watching and listening.

Today, whatever the vote, we move to a new age. What will we do, Church?
