Man is made in the image and likeness and with the very breath and spirit of God the Father.
We live in a world in which Satan reigns as ruler. He is so envious of man’s place and importance to God’s creation that he rebelled against God, his Creator. He is so angry at God’s love and mercy toward man that he has spent every moment since his fall attacking mankind.
The enemy drives against man in today’s world by attacking the beauty of creation God gives to man. God shares His life-giving power with man and woman, Satan desires to tear all away through contraception and abortion and homosexuality and pornography. All weapons of his hatred of God and God’s greatest creation and love – mankind. None of these agendas are about life or loving but are for hate of God alone.
We must be willing to again be the icons of the Father’s very image and love. In this way we give great glory to God as we become the very likeness of the Father. In this way, we attack and anger Satan most as we eviscerate his power.
“So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. And God blessed them” Genesis 1:27-28
“And God blessed them.” God gave us His image and likeness and blessed us in many ways. All creation was built for man. The stars in the Heavens, the seas rolling against the shore, the Aurora Borealis, everything. Then, in time, He came to earth to let us see the face of God. In some way, to bolster man’s faith in God’s promises.
“Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, which you have from God? You are not your own; you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.“ 1 Corinthians 6:19-20
We glorify God most when we live life to the fullest in God’s Will. It isn’t when we take risks or earn money or hot cars, it is living the fullness of the Holy Spirit but being men and women of God. Bringing the likeness of our Heavenly Father to light in our actions, words and appearance.
Be the man or woman God created you to be and let the image and likeness of God shine forth in His Glory. The world needs men and women to live this way now more than ever.
