The terror of the night

Spread the love

“He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High and abides in the shade of the Almighty says to the Lord: “My refuge,
my stronghold, my God in whom I trust!”It is He who will free you from the snare of the fowler who seeks to destroy you; He will conceal you with His pinions and under His wings you will find refuge. You will not fear the terror of the night.” Psalm 91:1-5

“Jesus I trust in You”

No matter the trial or challenge we may face, God is protecting you. God allows the challenges only that we may grow closer to Him, and learn to trust in Him. To know He is God.

As Good Friday quickly approaches, we see more clearly the need for God’s protective wings to cover us. The enemy will do everything in his power to ensnare and trap you. I see clearly now that the toughest and most dangerous trap I have to fear is of my own making. My sin. And, Satan uses this self-made trap to hold me and ultimately, in his desire, to destroy me.

The greatest terror, the darkest ‘night’ is sin. Sin has the power to destroy a soul. IF you listen to Satan, even the smallest of sins condemns you to Hell.

But, Holy Week, Good Friday, and especially Easter shows us all sin is forgivable. It shows how we are the ones crying out to “Crucify Him!” as we move from sin to sin to guilt. We allow the tormentor to crucify us with the nails of guilt. As we gaze forward to the cross, we need to view our failings not as condemnation but as a way of the cross. A way to trust in God’s infinite love and mercy.

These final days of Lent is a time of repentance. With our sins we cry out to crucify Jesus, in His great Divine Mercy, Jesus calls out, “Father, forgive them…”

Repent, turn from sin toward the coming Easter sunrise and never fear the terror of the night again for in trust of His Mercy, you will be found resting under the night wings of the Holy Spirit.

tell the whole world about My inconceivable mercy. I desire that the Feast of Mercy be a refuge and shelter for all souls, and especially for poor sinners. On that day the very depths of My tender mercy are open. I pour out a whole ocean of graces upon those souls who approach the Fount of My Mercy. The soul that will go to Confession and receive Holy Communion shall obtain complete forgiveness of sins and punishment” Divine Mercy in my soul # 699
