The Road of Faith

Spread the love

“Always be ready to make your defense to anyone who demands from you an accounting for the hope that is in you” 1 Peter 3:15

The Road of Faith was ‘dreamed’ up several years ago through prayer. The blog site has now been active for two years this New Year’s Eve. I’ve shared my thoughts and reflections with a smaller community of close friends for many years, two years ago my parish shut down its online services that allowed us to connect within our ministries. With these changes, many friends asked about continuing to receive my reflections. That New Year Eve my wife and I felt invited by the Lord to start www.theroadoffaith.net.

While the site was born that night, the idea was formed years prior. My wife and I have made a point that every vacation would include some aspect of our faith. We visited the Basilica in Baltimore, shrines and churches and of course, a pilgrimage to Poland. The idea and dream of the Road of Faith was to share these journeys.

Across the USA are found many great examples of our Catholic faith. There are shrines to our Blessed Mother, locations of approved Marian Apparitions, great glorifying churches great and small and many other examples of the Catholic faith that has formed this nation.

The Road of Faith has already brought a small aspect of this journey through the Friday ‘Faith On The Road’ reflections that I’ve been sharing over the past two years. These online faith pilgrimages have take you to Poland, St. Augustine FL, and other locations of Catholic interest.

The Lord has given my wife and I clear messages that He desires that we become fulltime pilgrims and evangelists. So, desiring His joy, we have said yes. In two weeks we are stepping away from our life in a single location and taking our faith in the road. We have purchased an RV in which we will travel and explore this United States in search of the beauty that is God exemplified through our Catholic faith. We will share locations, pictures and reflections so you can both see the Catholic beauty of our nation but also consider visiting these locations in your travels.

The other aspect of our future Road of Faith journey is evangelism. All of us our called to take our faith on the road, outside of the four walls of our church and home. We are called to be open to the call of God to go to towns to share His Message of Divine Mercy and love.

“Then Jesus called the twelve together and gave them power and authority over all demons and to cure diseases, and he sent them out to proclaim the kingdom of God and to heal.” Luke 9:1-2

The future of The Road of Faith will not change dramatically. I will still share my personal road of faith reflections. This blog has become my shared online journal and has helped me grow. I’ve had too many positive and impactful messages from followers to change too much of what I’ve been doing. But, we will take our faith on the road and share some of that journey of faith with you. And, I expect that in these journeys I will grow and change so the blog will as well as a connection of my heart.

My desire is that some of the locations we visit and feature in the future will be places you may make a part of your future travels to support the locations and just find blessings our Catholic faith brings us in the things we do and places we go.

We should never stand still in our faith. We should always be ready to give our yes to God when He asks something of us. We should always be ready to share the stories of our personal road of faith – that is to evangelize.
