The Queen’s knight

Spread the love

I have always been enthralled with the image of the holy knight. As long back as I can remember, I desired to be a knight in shining armor. Valiant, brave and chivalrous.

I used to play D&D (highly not recommend as it is a portal to demonic activity), but I bring it up now because it shows that deep desire. When I would play, nearly all the time, I would play the character of the Paladin. A paladin is a holy knight with incredible power. He stands as paramour to law and righteousness. He is the defense against evil, having special abilities from God to fight evils. He must always be valiant and good. Any immoral act would cause the loss of all his abilities. This was me deep within. My desire.

Note: D&D is dangerous! It calls upon real demons by name and uses real spells and elicits worship of other Gods! Don’t do it!

My desire to be a knight has led me all through life. I guess the idea of a holy paladin knight has probably saved me from catastrophic sin and kept my heart pure.

I think that is the reason I feel so drawn to the Consecration prayer of St Maximilian Kolbe. He looks for those consecrated to the Queen to be her knight. To go out and serve her in the field, one can think of this as a holy quest. A quest for souls to bring to the Immaculata, the Queen.

Make no mistake, there is a strong King standing behind this queen whom we serve. This Queen doesn’t need knights to defend her honor but she still looks for souls to serve her grace. In serving this Queen, we serve the King of Kings.

I have had God answer my prayers to be a knight. I was knighted by the Queen to serve her, and the King to serve as a knight of Mercy. As I renewed my Consecration at Częstochowa last year, I looked up a saw a sword hung on the wall, I knew instantly this meant I was knighted by the Queen that day. She accepted my humble service and vow. And, over the past weeks’ reflections on my Queen, I have fallen in love with her more deeply than ever before.

I am His And I serve His Queen Mother. My coat of arms is the Divine Mercy image and my sword is His Word. My shield is the Immaculate Heart of Mary and my armor shines brilliantly, polished by the Precious Blood of Jesus.

“[The Militia of the Immaculata] is called ‘Militia’ or ‘Knighthood’ because those who devote themselves so completely to the Immaculata” St Maximillian Kolbe

“The aim of each man is to belong to God through Jesus, who is the Mediator with the Father, and to belong to Jesus through the Mediatrix of all graces, the Immaculata. At different times, both in public and in private, the souls who love the Immaculata have used several formulas to characterize their oblation to the Mother of God. All wish to emphasize the most perfect form of their self-oblation, the greatest possible, even though in the wording and in its immediate sense there are differences…. Obviously, all these denominations and all other possible ones basically indicate one sole and identical fact, and all those who use them wish to give themselves up entirely to the Mother of God.” St. Maximillian Kolbe
