“There are souls who despise My graces as well as all the proofs of My love. They do not wish to hear My call, but proceed into the abyss of hell. The loss of these souls plunges Me into deadly sorrow. God though I am, I cannot help such a soul because it scorns Me; having a free will, it can spurn Me or love Me. You, who are the dispenser of My mercy, tell all the world about My goodness, and thus you will comfort My Heart” Divine Mercy in My Soul # 580
On a retreat, I had heard a phrase that struck me hard. “God is All Powerful, but we have one power over even God, that of our “no”.”
Our NO has such power over God that He made a point to tell St. Faustina that He can’t help such a soul. It isn’t that God’s Divine Mercy isn’t the most powerful force in all creation, it simply comes to our unwillingness to accept that Divine Mercy – our NO.
The ‘demands’ of His Mercy are certain and immovable. He will not budge. He will not change. This is only hard to accept if we are stubborn and unwilling to submit to Him. God gives us free will and in this, He says we can say no. God doesn’t want to be within the heart that doesn’t want Him.
This doesn’t mean that All Powerful and All-Mighty God won’t use all His power and all His unfathomable Divine Mercy to soften the hardest heart. In this task, God asks us to be the voice of Mercy. To help share the message of His love and mercy to those around us that they see the ‘possibility’ of this mercy. Once the hardest, unbelieving heart thinks “maybe”, or wonders enough if this is real, the world changes, the door is open even just a crack for God to enter.
That’s one of the great blessings we’ve received in publishing “I Knew His Voice.” The book has been shared with some souls who didn’t believe God was real or present. Souls who had unknowingly hardened their hearts by simple apathy. They just didn’t care enough to seek God. After reading this miraculous true story, several have turned their lives around completely, while others simply looked within asking, “what if?” I don’t know what will come of these souls, but now there is an opening that is no longer a hard ‘NO.’ There is hope.
Share your story of how God’s Divine Mercy has touched you. Share with even the most hardened heart. Your sharing might only get them to stop for a moment to think – All Powerful God can work miracles in a moment.
“All my nothingness is drowned in the sea of Your mercy. With the confidence of a child, I throw myself into Your arms, O Father of Mercy, to make up for the unbelief of so many souls who are afraid to trust in You. Oh, how very few souls really know You! How ardently I desire that the Feast of Mercy be known by souls! Mercy is the crown of Your works; You provide for all with the love of a most tender mother” Divine Mercy in My Soul # 505
