“Write, speak of My mercy. Tell souls where they are to look for solace; that is, in the Tribunal of Mercy [the Sacrament of Reconciliation] There the greatest miracles take place [and] are incessantly repeated. To avail oneself of this miracle, it is not necessary to go on a great pilgrimage or to carry out some external ceremony; it suffices to come with faith to the feet of My representative and to reveal to him one’s misery, and the miracle of Divine Mercy will be fully demonstrated” Divine Mercy in My Soul # 1448
Try as much as you want we will never begin to grasp the miracle that is Divine Mercy.
It would have been fully understandable for us to see Jesus walk away from the passion and cross because our sin is too dark. It would be expected by the guilty sinner to have God cast down fiery judgement upon it. Understandable and expected by man. But, this is not how God thinks or works.
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways my ways, says the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.” Isaiah 55:8-9
Instead of facing the judgment tribunal, we can stand before the ‘Tribunal of Mercy.’ Our Merciful Father doesn’t make us jump through hoops or make huge pilgrimages nor even pay great penalties to avail of His Divine Mercy. God the Father simply asks us to come to the His Divine Mercy and accept it.
“I never reject a contrite heart.” Divine Mercy in my soul # 1485
No catches or fine print. Just come as a humble, contrite soul and ask for Mercy. God will grant it.
“Oh no, not for me. Do you know what I’ve done and how many times I’ve confessed only to repeat that sin?”
No, I don’t but God knows and His offer remains. In fact, the Merciful Jesus affirms “There the greatest miracles take place [and] are incessantly repeated.” No matter the depths, number or repeats of your sin “come with faith to the feet of My representative and to reveal to him one’s misery, and the miracle of Divine Mercy will be fully demonstrated”
It’s very simple. Go to Jesus asking mercy. Over and over and over.
