We find ourselves in the season between Easter and Pentecost. Easter is when Divine Mercy’s heart was pierced and poured its blood and water out upon the whole world. Washing all sinners free of their sins. Pentecost is the north of the Church. This is the moment the Church first stepped out of the upper room to spread her message throughout the world.
Also, Pentecost is when the Holy Spirit poured His abundant gifts out to all who will accept them and use the gifts to help souls see and accept the Father’s great love.
Wisdom, understanding, counsel, fortitude, knowledge, piety, and fear of the Lord are the great Gifts of the Holy Spirit.
But, also from Easter and Divine Mercy Sunday Jesus brings us the gift of mercy.
All souls who accept this gift of mercy, receive it in abundance. This is a gift that flows with the never ending current of a flooding river, and the never ebbing tide of an ocean of mercy.
This is also a gift that we are expected to give away. Not just a tithe or small piece, keeping some for ourselves. No. Jesus expects us to give all the mercy we receive away to other souls.
Jesus spoke to my heart recently, “give away all the mercy you’ve received. Give away so much of what you’ve received as to go in debt, leave nothing in your storehouse.”
“Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy.” Matthew 5:7
But, you may be thinking, “if I give away all the mercy I’ve received, what about me?” No worries. Jesus won’t be outdone. He wants us to give mercy out in such an emptying manner so that we may see how much mercy we’ve received.
The more mercy you show to another (give away), the more you will see you’ve received and the more you will have. The more you put mercy ‘into play’, the greater the reward.
“For to every one who has will more be given, and he will have abundance” Matthew 25:29
