The Gift From God

Spread the love

“Brothers and sisters: I am speaking in human terms because of the weakness of your nature.
For just as you presented the parts of your bodies as slaves to impurity and to lawlessness for lawlessness, so now present them as slaves to righteousness for sanctification. For when you were slaves of sin, you were free from righteousness. But what profit did you get then from the things of which you are now ashamed?
For the end of those things is death. But now that you have been freed from sin and have become slaves of God, the benefit that you have leads to sanctification, and its end is eternal life.
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 6:19-23

As we approach Christmas, we again begin to think about the gifts and excitement of the season and day. We need to focus upon what the greatest gifts of this season truly are.

We live lives often controlled by sin and the chains that bind us. Sin fools us into believing it is fun or feels good. Emotional outlet to release the temper. Sins of the flesh feel fulfilling in the moment. Pride always gives a pat on the back that brings a smile.

“But what profit did you get then from the things of which you are now ashamed?” All these things bring nothing but shame in the end. These sins keep us from looking in our eyes in the mirror and from seeing the likeness of God when you call up the courage to glance in that mirror.

“The gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” God’s greatest gift is His endless, reckless Divine Mercy. The Divine Mercy of the Father washes away all stain of sin within the soul, giving back to the soul the joy of the semblance of God again. No matter how scarred or disfigured a soul may be, Divine Mercy changes all.

If you want to add something to your Christmas gift list, one that can never be restricted or limited by a supply chain. Divine Mercy pours freely and in abundance to any soul who opens their heart to ask forgiveness. Divine Mercy brightens the soul to glow more brilliantly than then the brightest Christmas tree – or even the Griswald house.
