“I have revealed to you the whole ocean of My mercy. I seek and desire souls like yours, but they are few. Your great trust in Me forces Me to continuously grant you graces. You have great and incomprehensible rights over My Heart, for you are a daughter of complete trust”. Divine Mercy in my soul # 718
“The graces of My mercy are drawn by means of one vessel only, and that is — trust. The more a soul trusts, the more it will receive” Divine Mercy in my soul # 1578
Look around today’s world, any news article or media outlet and you will see a definite lack of trust in Jesus. One might even contend a downright hatred for Him. The few voices have spoken and the liberal governments have listened and capitulated. This surrender to those voices have taken prayer out of school, makes talking of God in the workplace a forbidden action. Life has become less as witnessed by the thousands of unborn children who day. We see rioters destroying and killing others, not in protest but in opportunistic vengeance and anarchy. This post isn’t about the current state of politics but about a world gone mad.
All this can be so overwhelming. How can anyone look at what is happening outside our doors or within our families themselves and not feel crushed and defeated? Hint: the answer is in the words of Jesus on this post. The promises of Jesus in the Bible and throughout “Divine Mercy in my soul”.
TRUST!
In difficult times, it is very easy for the soul to cry out to God, “Why?!?” I’ve asked that question of God many times in my life, most in not so friendly of a tone. When my dad died, “why would you allow this great man to die?”, when my daughter was diagnosed with lupus, “why did you do this to her? Haven’t I done enough for you?” and when she suffered a seizure that put her at death’s door in the ICU, “why, Lord? Were all Your promises to us a lie?” – just to name a few.
I’ve learned one thing from every one these difficult times, God is always faithful and true. “His faithfulness is a shield and buckler.” Psalm 91:4 and He will always defend the soul that trusts in Him (even If just a small amount). “He will cover you with his pinions, and under his wings you will find refuge“ Psalm 91:4
““Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.” Hebrews 11:1 Trust is believing in God’s promises, presence and will even when everything seems lost. My dad’s death gave me the first true hint of faith as I prayed over his coffin with trust that I would see him again. My daughter’s illness has opened many souls to the presence of God through our story and my book, “I knew His Voice”. That night in the ICU, God introduced me to St. Faustina, Divine Mercy and changed my future. My daughter often asks, “why me?” To which I respond, “many have found God through your suffering and miracles. Many lives are saved by your suffering, I’m one of those.” Her illness forced me to move from a place of comfort and step out of the boat. That step changed me forever because in that step I learned trust.
The only question remaining is; are you willing to be one of the few in this dark world to trust in Jesus with all your heart, mind and soul: then step out of the boat to show God’s glory? Simple trust.
“Most dear to Me is the soul that strongly believes in My goodness and has complete trust in Me. I heap My confidence upon it and give it all it asks“. Divine Mercy in My soul # 453
