I’ve talked a lot over the past weeks about the cross over the crib. We celebrate and are excited for Christmas and the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ. Rightfully so. But, the manger and crib is not the reason God became man. He didn’t come to see what it felt like to be a little baby, wrapped in swaddling clothes. Jesus came through the crib to carry His Cross. We love the joy and peace Christmas always seems to bring, even in Covid, but, Jesus came for a week 33 years later. He came for Holy Thursday, Good Friday, the passion and cross. Jesus came to die, be closed within the grave and to descend into hell for our first parents’ redemption. Jesus came through the crib and cross to rise to great glory so man could rise to greater glory through Christ Jesus. Jesus journeyed through the crib to get to the cross that we might be called children of God the Father and reign with Him forever.
The Man born to die.
This original song by Praise Nation helps us reflect upon the greatest gift God brought to us on Christmas – the cross.
