Bible on the Road – The Call

Spread the love

I am just sitting here this morning meditating on Jesus’ call. His call was like an echo in my soul. It was quiet and repetitive. Jesus pursued me through some dark, sinful days. He walked through dark valleys to continue to protect me and whisper in my soul – “hear Me, My son.” I often have wondered on the final stand out moments, when I finally listened to His call. Why did I listen then when He had been trying for so long to get my attention? I realized when writing the last pages of my book (I Knew His Voice).

The disciples and so many through Church history changed their lives, giving themselves fully to Jesus, many dying for that conviction. Read the verses below on some of the moments capturing Jesus’ invitation. Why would these men do this? In those moment, one evening, writing ‘I Knew His Voice’ it clicked clear. They were captured by the eyes of God.

After so many years of His calling me, ever at my side protecting me from myself, that is why I finally followed Jesus. He had been inviting me for years, I never heard because I never looked. In the final moment, I raised my eyes to His and the eyes of the Divine, eyes of God captured my attention and heart. Finally, in His gaze, I heard His voice.

Meditate upon your call. How did Jesus call you? How did He get your attention? Please consider sharing that moment on The Road of Faith in the comments – https://theroadoffaith.net
