“Show me, Lord, your way so that I may walk in your truth. Guide my heart to fear your name.” Psalm 86:11
The greatest teacher a soul could ever have is God Himself. He is the most patient of professors and most knowledgeable of teachers. He not only knows everything that ever is, but Be knows that which is to come. It is within this knowledge that God guides the soul.
The soul comes to a trial and begs God to change the circumstances or remove the pain. God seems to cruelty answer no or become silent. But, when the soul understands God’s knowledge and wisdom, see the Father’s greatest desires, it is then the soul understands and comes to trust. The Father has one single-minded desire, the soul’s salvation. Your salvation. Everything else pales in comparison. That is the purpose of the passion and cross. That is the reason for your cross.
Father God does not punish or put you to trial out of anger. No, He is always looking to move the soul forward that it finally sees God for all He is. For the soul to come to a level of trust that it doesn’t waiver in faith when a trial comes or stands strong, carrying another through their trial.
Every soul faces challenge and those challenges innately come with fear. It is through the trial that God tempers away the fear so the soul can stand stronger. One thing of which I am certain, the man who I was would be in awe of the man whom I am now. Not because of my strength but because of the changes God taught me through. The man I was would be awed by the trials I gave today that I don’t much notice. For the insurmountable mountains I would have seen years ago, are but rolling hills now.
So, I pray that God patiently continues to guide and teach me. To lead me forward that I may trust more fully in Him so that someday soon that mountain range ahead may be diminished to a lush plain.
We will someday all face the final mountain. Death is truly an insurmountable cliff that brings such fear to the soul. But, I pray through Gods lessons that even that trial someday may be faced with trusting joy.
God is now and will never stop guiding your heart. He is looking to you to stop fighting and thinking you know everything like some grumpy teenager. He is looking for you to lay down your pride and lean upon His wisdom and understanding. It is then that you will see the Mighty Warrior and become mighty yourself. Able even to stand before the pit of Hell and do great things in His Name.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not rely on your own insight.” Proverbs 3:5
“Strengthen the weak hands, and make firm the feeble knees. Say to those who are of a fearful heart, “Be strong, do not fear! Here is your God. He will come with vengeance, with terrible recompense. He will come and save you.” Isaiah 35:3-4
