Will the Church ever be the same? Will it ever be able to recover? Covid, scandal and vocation-less priests have struck a stake in her heart. What will come of the Church Jesus began nearly 2,000 years ago?
God spoke within my heart on day 1 back in March, just hours before we heard the churches were closed. He gave to me the parable of the talents and said “I’ve given each of you the talents for these days. You are My voice. What church will you back when this time passes?”
Sadly, I agree and fear that many who came to Mass because it’s what they did every Sunday (not best reason) will be lost. Habit of coming to Mass still allowed them to get His word and Eucharist. At least they were coming to Mass. they were being fed even if they were enjoying the banquet. But, now that habit is gone, they are not coming to Mass so most will feel no need to come back. Many souls will be lost because they won’t be fed even the ‘snack’ of Mass. Now, they are being fed by the world. I know this danger as I’ve seen it happen first hand with my kids. Doesn’t stop me praying for their return and protection but they are out in the darkness away from His Sacraments and word.

The world and its rulers are misleading countless souls directly into hell and damnation. Marxism and socialism are spoken by these people as if words of freedom from worry and stress. Never doubt though, that these paths are made only to defeat God and destroy His children, tearing them from His arms and casting them into the pits of hell.
Now, Covid is a tool of this evil cadre. ‘Designed’ to draw the people from the pews and shut their ears to the voice of God. Before Covid came upon us, most churches were lucky to have 25% attendance on a Sunday. And, now, no parish in our diocese or lost in the nation draw even 25% occupancy to their church – numbers in the low hundreds at best in a local parish of 10,000.
What can we do to stop the bleeding? Receive the Sacraments. The reception of the Sacrament of the Eucharist is too big a gift to waste.
We need to find ways to actively use our gifts to draw people back to God, back to His One, Holy, Apostolic Church. Prayer is first and foremost of the great gifts God has given us. Pray, pray and when you think you’ve prayed enough, pray, pray. Pray for people by name, pray by groups, pray for unknown people in need. Pray! The Lord will listen to your pleas.
Then, trust in the Lord with all your heart. Understand the Lord is God and King. The Lord is in total control.
Lastly, do whatever you can to show love to another, to every soul. They will know we are Christians by our love. Some may desire to shut it down but love always wins out. “God is Love” 1 John 4:8 Every ‘little’ act done in pure loving intention rings loudly throughout Heaven and this clarion bell of love rings louder in the halls of hell. The demons hate the sound of this bell ringing.

Souls are at stake!
