The first phase of surrender is simply to accept and consent to God’s Will as it is revealed in the circumstances of our life.
This is a passive stage of surrender.
Simply coming to realize that there has never been a moment, not a single second, in which God was not present with you and communicating with you.
God has been and is in the midst of all experiences we have gone through in our life. All the good times, He is there. All the bad times, He is there. All the nightmare situations, He is there. Yes, even in the most terrible and traumatic times, He is there.
Most times things may seem random or accidental. But, He is there. Now and then, God reveals Himself. He makes it known just how close He is. At those times He shows Himself and we praise and thank Him.
“The heavens are telling the glory of God; and the firmament[a] proclaims his handiwork.” Psalm 19:1
As I came more deeply into my faith, God granted me to see His presence throughout my life. All the events in which He celebrated with me. All the stupid decisions I nearly made (and some I made) in which He was protecting me from too much harm. Even in my darkest sinful times, God was standing near like a strong, protective Father. Defending me. Shielding me.
The times my family and I went through proved this fact to me. There are times when it’s almost like God is tapping you on the shoulder, or even shaking your shoulders to make sure you recognize His presence. There are other times He is absolutely still and silent. He is still there.
The whole story of ‘I Knew His Voice’ is summed up in this truth. God is always right there. He told my daughter in the ambulance just that, “I am always here beside you.”
“And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:20
Look back at your life, see God is there. Always.
Beautifully expressed! Well done
