Strive in Hope

Spread the love

“O my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of hell, lead all souls to Heaven, especially those in most need of thy mercy.” – Fatima Prayer

As Christians we live in hope. Hope in the faith to which we hold tight the promises of God. As Catholics, we lay our trust in the Divine Mercy of the Father, through Jesus upon the cross, risen from the grave.

“With the Lord at my side I do not fear” psalm 118:6

It is in the direst and scariest of moments this faith, hope and trust is put to the test. As the soul faces its inevitable death, he either falls in fear or into the arms of God in trust.

The graces of My mercy are drawn by means of one vessel only, and that is-trust. The more a soul trusts, the more it will receive.” Divine Mercy in My Soul # 1578

We turn to the Blessed Mother facing the human fears that come with the moment of death. Is there a Heaven? Is it just an end? Will Jesus greet me? How will I be judged? And dozens more. In desperate hope, we pray, “Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death”, signing it with our ‘amen.’

“This is the gate of the Lord; the righteous will enter through it. I will give thanks to You, for You have answered me, And You have become my salvation.” Psalm 118:20-21

Trust and faith overcome fear. For in Jesus and His Divine Mercy, there is nothing that can stand against us. Not the world, the enemy or even death. His power and majesty is so far over all these and everything that they aren’t even in the same realm. Jesus can wipe out the enemy simply with a thought. Jesus has conquered death already with a drop of His Most Precious Blood.

It is with the prayer given by our Lady at Fatima and the Hail Mary that we find and hold to the eternal hope. Hope that yes God’s Divine extends and covers me, even in my darkest sin. Yes, when the soul crosses that threshold, Jesus along with Mary will be waiting with love to welcome him home. In Supreme Justice there is a judgment, but, Jesus will save us from the fires of Hell and help us who are in most need of His Divine Mercy.

Strive through fear and even this threshold of death in trust and faith and hope.

“You are my God, and I give thanks to You;
You are my God, I exalt You. Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; for His mercy is everlasting.” Psalm 118:28-29

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with you. Blessed are you among women,
and blessed is the fruit of your womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners,now and at the hour of our death.
Amen

And, AMEN.
