Will you stand and speak boldly for God? Will you stand alone before the world to declare the glory of God made incarnate through Jesus Christ on Christmas morning and brought to reality in the crucifixion.
“whoever denies me before others, I also will deny before my Father in heaven.” Matthew 10:33
If we we as Catholics think it is supposed to be easy or seek the mild way to eternity, we only need to look to the words of Christ Jesus to learn what to expect. “Do not think that I have come to bring peace to the earth; I have not come to bring peace, but a sword…whoever does not take up the cross and follow me is not worthy of me.” Matthew 10:34,37.
Look all around you to see the truth that this faith is under attack. Abortion is at an all time high, more and more vehemently come out in support of the murder of innocent babies, attacks against the Catholic Church are a truly accepted form of prejudice and attack now. Religious freedom is attacked especially against Catholics and even by other christians against Catholics.
Will you stand for Christ? Read the Bible for examples of people who laughed at and scorned Jesus. His own people wanted to push him from a cliff and later in Jerusalem the people He came for cried to crucify God. The abandoned Him when He spoke of the Eucharist in John 6 and all His closest disciples abandoned Him at Calvary.
“whoever denies me before others, I also will deny before my Father in heaven.” Matthew 10:33
Standing for our God and our Catholic faith IS a hill to die upon and our stance for God – denial of His truth or standing for all His truth – is something for which we will be judged.
Stand outside the city gates in support of God whatever may come and suffer the jeers and vileness of the world that one day you may stand in the Holy of Holies with God in glory.
