Soul’s Song

Spread the love

“O Christ, I am most delighted when I see that You are loved, and that Your praise and glory resound, especially the praise of Your mercy. 0 Christ, to the last moment of my life, I will not stop glorifying Your goodness and mercy. With every drop of my blood, with every beat of my heart, I glorify Your mercy. I long to be entirely transformed into a hymn of Your glory. When I find myself on my deathbed, may the last beat of my heart be a loving hymn in praise of Your unfathomable mercy.” Divine Mercy in My Soul # 1708

Music is a discovery and expression of the natural laws of God’s creation, relying upon the order and rhythm found in its natural design.  Some music uses the natural order of things to glorify earthly realities.  Some forms of music even express sin and disorder.

In our travels, we’ve heard beautiful choirs in great cathedrals. We’ve also heard beautiful songs of nature in a waterfall or quiet whispering breeze. We’ve praised with the band of PraiseNation PGH with hands uplifted and sung psalms accompanied only by voice.

But the greatest form of music is that which beautifully and clearly articulates the high order, harmony and symmetry of the life of God.  Our lives. Our lives become like a hymn of glory, offered to God, when we act in perfect harmony with the Will of God.

Our soul ‘sings’ out great hymns of praise to God when we live within His Divine Will. When “Jesus, I trust in You” becomes the refrain of our soul, the songs of joy rise through heaven.

Take the instrument from its case and hand it over to God. Stop trying to make the beeps and squeaks of your will into music.

Surrender to God’s Will, trust in Him. Let God become the Conductor, music and musician of your life. He is the Virtuoso Who knows how to bring out the best chords and notes of your soul. Let your soul become the hymnal of God. Let the “music” of your soul become a hymn of this glory

“I will exalt you, my God the King; I will praise your name for ever and ever.
Every day I will praise you and extol your name for ever and ever.” Psalm 145:1-2

Fiat! Not mine but Your Will be done.
