“For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you. You will seek me and find me; when you seek me with all your heart”. Jeremiah 29:11-13
Meditating upon my life and past experiences, I always marvel at these words from Jeremiah. “For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil.” God shared with me that before He had called the light to the world, He already knew the paths of my life and even more, the plans He had for my life.
How did I not mess things up with my years of sinful living? All those years of walking my own ways and doing it my way. I often ponder how different life would be if I had only found Jesus sooner.
I believe that if I had accepted Jesus into my life when I was a teen, I would probably now be a priest. My spiritual director once told me that my life’s journey proves Jeremiah’s words. It shows God knows the plans for my life that work best for my future and hope.
God never ceased seeking for a place in my heart. He never gave up hope that I would turn to Him. And, when I did begin to seek Jesus in my life, it was with all my heart.
