“My food is to do the Will of the One Who sent Me, and to accomplish His work.” John 4:34
Jesus invites us to follow His lead. He desires that we follow this path to obedience with Him and in the same way He did.
Ask any mature Christian about his journey to God, it will always be a story of obedience. Though the word may never be mentioned. He said ‘yes’ to God, and at certain times made a more conscious, decisive and maybe dramatic ‘yes’ which has borne great fruit. These yeses led him to say ‘yes’ again and again. If one’s life is barren, you can often see a trail of the word no left in its wake.
Without a ‘yes’ to God, the soul cannot mature in its spiritual life.
Jesus wants us with Him. He desires us to live in the obedience and unity of the Holy Trinity. When we speak of obedience, it should be the Trinity to which our thoughts should go. The Holy Trinity is in perfect harmony with One Another. The Trinity lives in perfect obedience. The Father is the source of life. He wants to give of Himself and begets the Son Who is like Him. The Son is willing to reflect the Father’s being. He desires to be the Word of the Father and nothing else. “He who has seen Me has seen the Father” John 14:9. And, the Spirit is witness to this mutual love and desires to be nothing else. They live in perfect obedient harmony to One Another at all times.
Our ‘yes’ leads us to Jesus’ ‘yes’.
“The Son of God, Jesus Christ…in Him there is always Yes” 2 Corinthians 1:19
