Day 1 on the Divine Mercy Novena begins by the Lord asking us to pray for the whole word, and especially for sinners. When we pray the Chaplet, this is what we are doing – “For the sake of His sorrowful passion, have mercy on us and the whole world.”
We should spread this devotion to the whole world, everyone we meet. for when even the most hardened sinner says this Chaplet even once Jesus promises that He “will fill their souls with peace, and the hour of their death will be a happy one.” By saying this Chaplet the soul learns trust in the great Mercy of God. Turning from despair in its wretchedness, this soul’s despair will vanish as it throws “itself into the arms of My mercy, as a child into the arms of its beloved mother. These souls have a right of priority to My compassionate Heart, they have first access to My mercy.” Divine Mercy in My Soul # 1541
The Chaplet is a very simple prayer that draws upon the very simple and immense mercy of the Father. It doesn’t take hours not long prayers to say. As the soul learns to take this small retreat in Divine Mercy each day, it learns how great this Mercy is. Teach everyone this Chaplet.

Today, pray this Chaplet for the peaceful passing of my brother in Christ’s son, Grant. He is being moved to hospice care after suffering an overdose a week ago. My brother asks prayers for his quick and peaceful journey home. Pray for the family Grant leaves behind, that healing through faith leads to peace and joy in the knowledge their son is home.
