Now that our three year journey through the Psalm is complete we will introduce a new Sunday feature. “Saints on the Road” will focus on a different great saint each week. If you know any saints to whom you are close and have a relationship, share in the comments and I’ll research to share some words on the Saint.
Whatever we may find extraordinary in the lives of the saints – revelations, visions, locutions and acts – is but a glimpse of that excellence of their state that is contained and hidden in the exercise of faith. Faith possess all truth as knowing how to see and hear God in what happens in the moment.
“Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house.” Matthew 5:15
These saints receive favor for the purpose of attracting souls to the practice of sanctity.
There are many saints who God raises up for the salvation of souls. From those, He causes rays of glory to stream out for the enlightenment of the blind and those living in a dark world. Such were the prophets, disciples and all the saints chosen by God to be set as a candle in the Church. And, there are many more saints hidden within the Church. Saints who glorify God in the parish, work, being a dad or mom, being a friend or simply giving food to the needy or praying a Rosary/Chaplet at night alone in their room.
God in this sense places His candles on a stand that all can see and be guided by.
“let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven.” Matthew 5:16
Next Sunday we will begin with our first Saint on the Road – you’ll never guess who.
