Romans 8:28 Road of Faith

Spread the love

“We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, who are called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28

As Christians, we must believe God the Father is sovereign. It is HIS Will that must be done, that we must desire to be done. We pray it every day when we pray the Lord’s Prayer. The introductory and graduate level prayer to Christian thought and life. Trust is a Master level course and degree in Christianity. And, trust’s highest degree comes in knowing from Whom all our help comes.

“I lift up my eyes to the hills—
from where will my help come?
My help comes from the Lord,
who made heaven and earth.” Psalm 121:1-2

If this is so evident and critical to the life, physical, mental and spiritual, of a Christian, why do we struggle so much?

The graces of My mercy are drawn by means of one vessel only, and that is — trust. The more a soul trusts, the more it will receive. Souls that trust boundlessly are a great comfort to Me, because I pour all the treasures of My graces into them’ Divine Mercy in My Soul # 1578

True depth of love of God and in faith – truth of God’s Divine Will and surrender comes through the vessel of trust.

God broke through the stony hardness of my heart at the casket. This is when I started to accept His Presence. But, despite another near 30 years of travel down my road of faith towards Him, true trust and surrender skipped the grasp of my comprehension. It all came from my grasp and control the night when I knelt beside my daughter’s ICU bed. She was on a ventilator having just gone into respiratory failure. I felt alone and broken. My faith had crumbled as I fell to my knees crying out in despair. God took the crumbs I falling from my hands and started rebuilding my heart in surrender and my soul in trust. Over the next months St. Faustina and her writings showed me what true trust of God is. She taught me that my level of trust depended on the clarity of my vision of God’s power and love and mercy in my life.

All events of our life are enfolded within God the Father’s grasp. He has sent His Son, Jesus, to show us the Father’s love and sovereignty and His Spirit to give us a heart to achieve surrender. Trust is built upon seeing this fact with 20/20 vision.

God trusts us first that He gives His love wherever we are. God shows us His power and guidance when we who are called according to His purpose to a higher level. As we see His power and direction in our lives, we see the reason we can trust is that He has NEVER failed us in His love and mercy. And, we become vessels of trust to pour out to others.

Always along the Road of faith, we find Jesus as the disciples did going to Emmaus, and always at the end of the road is found God. Always along the way we find the Holy Spirit filling the wind under our wings that we may drift along His power.

Draw closer to God with every step. Ask Him to help you grow in faith and trust. And, know Who is your constant help.
