“Put this body anywhere! Don’t trouble yourselves about it! I simply ask you to remember me at the Lord’s altar wherever you are.” CCC 1371 – St. Monica to St. Augustine
Reading this quote this morning, I asked God to call to mind my dad and father-in-law. Then, thought of day 8 of the Novena of Divine Mercy and words St. Faustina spoke to our Lord. ““Jesus, I beg You, by the inconceivable power of Your mercy, that all the souls who will die today escape the fire of hell, even if they have been the greatest sinners.” Divine Mercy in My Soul # 873.
So, I dared to turn to God. I am nothing in compare to holy Faustina, but I dared anyway to make this same request to God.
“Lord, the power of Your Divine Mercy is beyond comprehension. I pray by Your Mercy, that the halls of Purgatory be emptied this day and that all souls who die today, even the greatest of sinners, be spared judgment and damnation.”
Do you know someone who has passed from this life? Offer them up in prayer, especially at the Holy Mass through the Chaplet of Divine Mercy. But, I ask each of my brothers and sisters on the Road of Faith to offer my prayer with a heart of faith and trust that God empty Purgatory today and save all souls from the fires of Hell.
I don’t know if I have the power to ask this, not if we together have the power to bring this prayer to God. But, He said that anything we ask in His Name, He will do that the Father may be glorified (John 14:13-14). What could glorify the Father more than this outpouring of His Mercy though our prayers.
So, again I ask. Every follower of the Road of Faith, join together today with this prayer adding it to day 8 of the Novena. Join together and pray the Chaplet offering these prayers to God in faith and trust that He will answer fully.
Purgatory CAN be empty today with our prayers. The fires of Hell can be quenched and Hell’s gates locked if we dare to beg God’s mercy in full trust and faith.
By the way, this is Jesus’s answer to St. Faustina’s request. It can be our answer as well.
“My beloved daughter, you have come to know well the depths of My Mercy. I will do what you ask but unite yourself continually with My agonizing Heart and make reparation to My justice. Know that you have asked Me for a great thing, but I see that this was dictated by your pure love for Me; that is why I am complying with your requests“. Divine Mercy in My Soul # 873
Day 8 of Novena of Divine Mercy
“Today bring to Me the souls who are in the prison of Purgatory, and immerse them in the abyss of My mercy. Let the torrents of My Blood cool down their scorching flames. All these souls are greatly loved by Me. They are making retribution to My justice. It is in your power to bring them relief. Draw all the indulgences from the treasury of My Church and offer them on their behalf. Oh, if you only knew the torments they suffer, you would continually offer for them the alms of the spirit and pay off their debt to My justice.”
Most Merciful Jesus, You Yourself have said that You desire mercy; so I bring into the abode of Your Most Compassionate Heart the souls in Purgatory, souls who are very dear to You, and yet, who must make retribution to Your justice. May the streams of Blood and Water which gushed forth from Your Heart put out the flames of the purifying fire, that in that place, too, the power of Your mercy may be praised.
Eternal Father, turn Your merciful gaze upon the souls suffering in Purgatory, who are enfolded in the Most Compassionate Heart of Jesus. I beg You, by the sorrowful Passion of Jesus Your Son, and by all the bitterness with which His most sacred Soul was flooded, manifest Your mercy to the souls who are under Your just scrutiny. Look upon them in no other way than through the Wounds of Jesus, Your dearly beloved Son; for we firmly believe that there is no limit to Your goodness and compassion.” Divine Mercy in My Soul # 1226-1227
